    Sweet baby!

    Tuesday, September 18th, 2007

I did a session the other day for the cutest little 6 month old girl. She loved her mama and wasn’t so sure about getting her picture taken. She sure is cute though. Here is a sneak peek for her parents…

I’ve been very busy this week. The cream cheese festival was really good except for the weather. Man was it freezing. I met a lot of people though and hopefully got myself out there. I had a lot of people say “where are you located” me, “Lowville” them, “oh I didn’t know there were other photographers in Lowville. So that just proves that no one really knows I’m doing this. So do me a favor and tell everyone you know!! K!

I’m doing the same thing at the Harvest of the Arts out at Maple Ridge. That’s Sept. 29th from 10-5. Thankfully that will be inside and I won’t have to deal with the weather.

I’m going to be doing the drawing for my free session soon. I just haven’t had a chance to choose a winner yet. Soon though.

Hope you all are well and that’s all for now!

    My Special Day!

    Friday, September 14th, 2007

Today is my 27th birthday!  I don’t feel 27.  I guess I’m not sure what 27 is supposed to feel like either though. LOL  Last night I was given a modest party at my parents house with dinner and apple pie along with some of my favorite friends.  It was great.  I had a fun time:)  Thanks Mom!

Tonight we are going to dinner at the Olive Garden.  Yum Yum!  I love their food.  C is home from school today b/c according to him the teachers need a break.  Only the kindergarten class doesn’t have school today.   It’s nice having him home on my birthday.

I need to spend some of the day finishing getting ready for the Cream Cheese Festival which is tomorrow.  The weather doesn’t promise to be very nice but I’m hoping people still come out for it anyway.  I’ve got a lot of nice stuff to display and some cool landscapes to sell.  Even if it’s cold as long as the rain holds off that would be great.

Well I have lots to do.  Don’t forget that if you do visit my booth tomorrow I’m doing a raffle for a free session.  So I hope to see a lot of people there tomorrow.

    Later.

    SEO

    Search engine optimization.

When I started this journey of getting my business up and running I had no idea about websites and SEO. I just assumed that when you had a website you showed up on the search engines. That is not the case. I’ve been learning about things like meta tags and a whole bunch of other stuff that goes along with that. Today I checked google and I ranked #3 when you type in Lowville NY photographer. Pretty cool when a week ago I wasn’t showing up at all! My website and blog are my biggest tool to showcase my work as well as keep my clients and potential clients up to date on what it going on. So it’s important that people can find it.

Don’t forget I’m still offering a good discount on my new portrait collections that include complimentary holiday cards. The holidays really will be here soon. Before you know it when you look out the window there will be snow! Sad huh!!

On a more personal note: C is adjusting very well to school. I thought he would be a little cranky at home but he seems to be doing just fine. He’s been going to be early b/c he’s so tired but that’s totally ok. L and I have been spending more time together just hanging out and he loves it although he misses his brother a ton. We went outside yesterday for a mini photo shoot while M was sleeping. He was great!

    Congratulations S&J!!!

I had so much fun at the wedding I did yesterday. I was glad I wasn’t the main photographer b/c there is just so much to deal with. It was great to know that if I messed up anything someone else was there to make sure it was captured. They were the nicest couple and had no problem with a newbie learning during all their festivities. I’m looking forward to doing it again. Here a just a glimpse…

I’ve got a busy week ahead of me so far. I need to finish getting everything I need for the Cream Cheese Festival on Sat. I’m almost ready!

Sessions are starting to fill up for Holiday Sessions. So if you are planning on scheduling a session do it soon before I get full. I’m limiting the amount of sessions I’m doing for Holiday’s.

    Have a good night everyone!!!

C’s first day was great and he couldn’t wait to go again today! The only thing he said was “mom, can’t I sleep a little longer?” He’s used to sleeping in and has been very tired. He’ll adjust I suppose. Anyway here are the pics I promised.

    Look what I found mom!

It’s been so quiet with out him here at home. It gives me more time to work on things photography:) I just found out that I will also have a booth at the Harvest of the Arts Festival on September 29, 2007. I will talk more about what I’m offering there etc at a later date.

On Saturday I’m going to second shoot at a wedding and I’m really nervous. I’m mostly nervous about what to wear!! How silly is that? The photog I’m shooting with has been doing this forever so I’m hoping he can teach me a lot. In the future I’d like to do weddings as well as portraits. Wish me luck on Sat and I’ll show some images when I get some edited.

Have a great night everyone! :)
