Well the big Noreaster wasn’t as big as they said it was going to be! We got some snow but I honestly thought it was going to just dump on us and I was a bit disappointed
Today was a nice lazy day. All the kids took naps and we just had a much needed restful day. This next few weekends are going to be crazy with last minute christmas things going on. I’m really looking forward to the kids Christmas though this year. I’m done shopping and I’m putting the credit cards AWAY!!! No more!! It will take a few weeks to recover!!
Ok so I finally decided what to do b/c of the grand opening of my new website. Starting Jan 1st and ending Jan 31st please take $20.00 of the session fee. YEAH!!!! This offer will not be combined with any other offer. Act quickly:)
Please call 315.376.0167 or e-mail @ ellenicolphotography@twcny.rr.com or visit my webpage and use the contact form to book your session soon. I can only take limited sessions.
Every year we go to the local tree farm and cut down our own tree for Christmas. This year was the 5th year already doing this. It’s so much fun. We all bundle up, grab the sleigh and the camera and head out. This year my parents came with us in search of the perfect tree. Amazingly enough it only took me an hour this year instead of two! I always get teased by my father in law that I’m too picky and it’s just a tree!!! It is fun though and the kids enjoy it as well. I brought my camera and carried it around for the first half hour. M fell out of the sled face first into the snow and when I picked her up my camera got all snow so I put it back in the van to dry. So of course we found our tree when I didn’t have the camera on me but we have before and after so that will have to be good enough.
We came home and let the tree dry and let the kids stay up until 10:30 so they could decorate it. We have so much fun and each year as the kids get older it gets better and better. Both of the boys knew what was going on and M just walked around with the ornaments going “phee” for pretty! Cute:) I didn’t take too many pictures of this event b/c it was much more fun to use the video camera instead. We had the christmas music blaring and were dancing all over as we trimmed the tree!
Daddy pulling the sled with C and M on it. Shortly after I took this C got out and M crashed b/c she was so bundled she couldn’t sit up by herself.

Daddy and Grandpa loading the 2 trees we got.

My snow bear! She was so cold when we were all done. I think she was the only one who wasn’t too thrilled with the whole experience.

Helping daddy put up the lights.

The finished product. If you look closely you will notice that most of the ornaments are on the bottom of the tree. They have since migrated little by little towards the top;)

Ok seriously I hope no one judges my photography skills on these pictures. Sometimes it’s just fun to be a mom and not a professional so I just snap away capturing the moment:)
As far as business news. I’m officially on vacation until the first of the year. So no orders etc. I’ll be taking appts again starting in Jan! I’m excited for 2008. I hope to go new places in my business. I’ve got some new ideas and things I hope people really will like starting in 2008. I’ve been doing this slowly for now b/c my kids are all so little and I’m fine with that. For 2008 I will be taking on more sessions b/c I’m getting used to the new schedule of C in school and so forth. I’m learning some new things that will be great for the business as well.
So if you are interested in a session drop me an e-mail or give me a call and we’ll set something up for 2008:) Looking forward to hearing from you.

I’m working on finalizing my 2008 wedding prices. I’m going to take the plunge and book some weddings on my own. I have one booked in May and have a few in the works for later in the summer. Book yours today before they fill up.
Do you know what it means to live in Northern NY? I’m not just talking about Albany or Syracuse either!!! I’m talking about almost to Canada northern NY. It’s crazy cold and snow! Right now it’s not to bad out but it will be and gosh it’s only the beginning of December. I seriously need to move to warmer climate:) Although I’ve heard that they have a lot of bugs!!
Tomorrow I’ll try to post a picture of what it looks like outside. In the meantime though it’s seriously hard to go anywhere with kids in the winter. It takes forever to have to bundle them all up and get them in car seats etc. Winter comes and I become a hermit b/c it’s just such a pain to go anywhere.
I’m trying to get things set up for this winter for portraits. I have such a small space it’s a pain. There isn’t much I can do about the space for now but I am going to get some studio lights (gasp!) They will be portable so I can take them on location with me. So if you have a bigger living room than I do and want portraits done for more than 2 people I can do that. I love going on location! It’s fun to try and figure out how to use the client’s stuff to do pictures with or if they want traditional studio to move all the furniture and set up my backdrops. Anyway I’m rambling!!!
Night! ~E
