    Winter already!!!!

    Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

I have to admit I was a little shocked to wake up and see the winter wonderland that dropped itself into my yard last night!  I also have to admit that even though I’m not ready for winter AT ALL, the first snow of the season is always sooo beautiful.  It’s clean, crisp and fresh.  New beginnings.

We haven’t even had time for all the leaves to fall off our tree yet!

I’ll have more pictures to share later as the kids all just went outside in their snowpants etc. It’s so cute but I was sweating by the time I helped 3 kids get dressed for snow!! LOL

I also wanted to quickly mention that I am taking new clients again but am booking for the end of November right now. It’s very limited availability for the Holiday Season but I always have room for maternity & newborns.

    finding normal again

    Sunday, October 26th, 2008

It’s been a long week. I ended up having to have an unexpected surgery and have spent the last 4 days on the couch getting better. I’m caught between the life I was having last week and the new one that faces me this week. It’s hard knowing I have work to get done, places to go and no energy to do either.
So if you are expecting something from me please continue to be patient as I rest and recover. If all goes well physically I will be back to normal again by the end of next week. I’m looking forward to moving on from my loss and the experiences of this past week but I know it will take time.
With all the thinking time I’ve been having the past few days I’ve been trying to figure out what I’m going to do for our family Christmas cards this year. It’s something I look forward to doing each year for our friends and family. I try to come up with something creative and new each year. Last year we did the whole family alternate each year btwn that and just the kids. So I’m trying to come up with a new idea for my kids Christmas photo. I have a few ideas and I only have 5 weeks to get it done!! LOL I also know that life takes it’s own twists and turns when it wants to so I’m not sure when I will have time to get this done.
Last year I also made magnet calendar’s for Christmas gifts for our family with our family picture on it. My mom is already asking when she is getting hers for the next year. So I need to work on that as well.
In the midst of all this we should be starting anytime with the addition to our house. I’m so excited. I can’t wait to have proper room for our family and what we need to do here. It’s going to be a mess and will make doing studio pictures harder while the construction is going on but worth it in the end! I can’t wait.
Well I guess that’s all. I just wanted to let everyone know that I’m thinking of you and haven’t forgotten the commitments I’ve made. They will get done. Just a little patience is all that’s required.

    Thanks

    Taking some time off.

    Monday, October 20th, 2008

I wanted to let everyone know that I am taking some time off.  I’m not sure how long I will be off for.  I won’t be taking new clients for a little while and any current ones I have it will be a few weeks longer before I am able to get your things taken care of.

We had a very personal tragedy happen over the weekend and I just need some time to myself to grieve and heal.

I will let you all know when I am able to take on new clients again.

If you are a praying kind of person please be praying for our family as we need it right now to get through a difficult time.

    Thank You for understanding.

nothing going on except the weather!

    Monday, October 13th, 2008

I’ve kind of been taking a break here lately!  So sorry for the lack of blogging.  There are some things going on in my personal life and the weather has been wonderful so I’ve just been taking some me time and doing things with my kids and hubby!

Life seems to be going a slow pace the last few weeks which is kind of nice for a change.  Usually we are constantly crusing!  We took the time to go to the Kite Festivle at Maple Ridge the other day.  It was fun even with hardly any wind.  I felt bad for all the people putting it on b/c without the wind they just couldn’t fly the kites.  They did have a thing for the kids with making paper kites and they flew good.  They didn’t need much wind and if the kids ran just a little they went up in the air.  So that was fun.

I love fall!  It’s my favorite time of the year I think.  I love the color in the trees, the smell, and the things we can make with apples!!  Fresh apples are my favorite and I’ve already been spending time making apple sauce for the freezer.  Next on my to do list is to make a pie!  It’s my whole families favorite!

With the coming of fall it means that Christmas will be here before you know it.  So if you are thinking of doing portraits as gifts for the Holidays call soon and schedule your appts.  There really is only a good 5 weeks or so to get it done.

I’m not sure if I mentioned it or not but we are moving forward with an addition on our house.  Right now my studio is in my basement which isn’t always convenient or easy to use.  With the addition we’ll be putting a studio and 3 bedrooms upstairs on our house.  The studio will have a seperate enterance all it’s own and just be much more convenient and nice looking.  I’m so excited and really can’t wait for it to be done.  i’m not very excited about the process though so far.  We are waiting on the engineer to come and draw up the plans.  We’ve been waiting for a long while now with no idea when he’s coming.  We are running out of time to start the project this fall.  It won’t be the end of the world if we have to wait until spring but it will make portraits during the winter that much more difficult on my family.  So if you happen to pray… it would be very nice to get this started asap!

I think that’s everything that’s going on.  I did my last wedding for the year last weekend and it was great!  I’ll have some sneak peeks up within the week.  I’m booking for 2009 now so if you need a wedding photographer give me a call or drop me an email and we’ll talk!

God Bless and enjoy the rest of the nice weather we’re having!
