Cake Smash Session (Northern NY Child Photography)

Ok so I’m cheating a little bit with this post because it wasn’t an actual session per say but I did drag my one year old into the studio and give him a cake of his own!! LOL I’m offering these now with ONE year sessions at no extra charge. They are incredibly messy but a TON of fun! All you would need to do is bring a bunch of balloons (helium ones work best, but I didn’t have any) and a small cake (you can make one or I got mine from walmart for like $3). Pretty much anything goes with these sessions. I set them up at the end of the session and let them have at it. It’s a total blast but like I said REALLY messy!!

So this is my little guy who just turned 1 in Jan Such a bittersweet milestone for a mom…

Why Custom Photography?

Custom photography is not necessarily a new concept, but one that is becoming an increasingly popular alternative to traditional retail studio photography. There are numerous benefits to hiring a custom photographer. Some of the most appealing are listed below.

1. Personal attention to every detail. Custom photographers do not mass produce their work. They schedule fewer sessions than a retail chain, and ensure that every photo is absolutely perfect in every way.

2. Artistic style. Custom photographers are very well versed on the latest photography styles, and will ensure that you get photos that show your true personality.

4. Custom product offering. Custom photographers offer tons of great products including personalized birth announcements, holiday cards, albums, etc. Your custom photographer will be happy to work with you to find a product that suits your needs, and then to personalize it for you.

Hi everyone…I’ve run into a few roadblocks with the local schools as far as advertising and would love your help! I’m looking for some kids from the class of 2011 who are interested in working for their senior photographs. I’m willing to give big discounts to students who are hard working and willing to advertise for me to their friends. I have postcards ready and waiting to go out to the classes of 2011 from LACS, BRCS etc. just no way to get them to students. I know it’s a little late in the year for this but my other means of advertising just fell through today. So if you can/want to help that would be amazing. I’m excited to do Senior Portraits again this year and look forward to getting my name out there more and more each year!!!

Rough week…

I just wanted to let everyone know that we’ve had a bit of a rough week here in the Nicol household. My wonderful husband Josh had a seizure at work this week, spent some time in the hospital and is home now. He’s doing good but very tired. So long story short I’m trying to be both mom and dad in some situations while he’s (supposed) to be resting. So it’s going to take me just a little bit longer to get orders done and galleries up. I hope to not get too far behind but I just wanted to let people know.

1 Year Old Session (Lowville NY Child Photographer)

This little girl came to my studio and was just so sweet! She started off smiling great and even after taking a tumble she still was smiling…until we gave her the cake!! LOL It’s the funniest thing watching a one year old with a cake! She was crawling all over during the session, trying to get away and investigate the studio except when that cake was there. It was soo cute. She really didn’t like being messy and kept looking at mom and dad wondering what was going on. Thanks to her parents for being such troopers with getting her to smile and have some fun!! Enjoy your preview…the rest of the gallery will be up soon!
